Payment policy
At Atkinson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, we are committed to helping families choose service options that honor their loved one’s life while respecting their individual needs and budget. We believe everyone deserves a dignified, meaningful funeral service, regardless of financial circumstances.
If you have concerns about the cost of services, we encourage you to discuss them with us. We will work with you to explore available options and alternatives that fit your budget without compromising the dignity and respect your loved one deserves.
Payment Terms
Payment for funeral home services is due by the scheduled service time. If no services are being held, payment is due within seven days of the arrangement conference. We are happy to meet with you to discuss arrangements, answer questions, and review available options; however, services cannot be scheduled until payment arrangements have been secured.
Accepted Payment Methods and Processing Fees
We accept the following forms of payment:
- Cash, personal check, and debit cards: Accepted with no additional processing fees.
- Major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover are accepted. A 3% credit card processing fee will be added to the transaction.
- Life insurance assignments: We can assist families with assigning eligible life insurance benefits toward funeral expenses through a third-party insurance processing service. A 3.5% processing fee applies to the amount processed. If the policy proceeds do not cover the full balance due, the fee will be calculated based on the total policy amount processed, and any remaining balance will be the family’s responsibility.
