Wilma Jean Moody, 91, Harrisonville, MO, died Saturday, October 7, 2017 at her home. A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Friday, October 13 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Grand River Baptist Church, Freeman, MO.
Jean was born July 31, 1926 in Harrisonville, MO, the daughter of Walter and Bernice (Berry) Anderson, Sr. She married Branson Charles Moody on April 19, 1947 in Paola, KS. Jean attended Prospect Rural School #88 and ByBee Rural School #89 and Harrisonville High School. She was a homemaker and raised four boys. She loved to sew and cook and she enjoyed fishing.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Branson on February 27, 2000, one son, Harold Keith Leslie, daughter-in-law, Jan Moody; three sisters, Millie Morris, Eleanor Osborn, and Mary Doris VanCamp; three brothers, Walter Anderson, Jr., Harold K. Anderson, and Charles Robert Anderson. She is survived by three sons, Rick Moody (Carol), Larry Moody, all of Harrisonville, MO, and Jim Leslie (Laura), Louisburg, KS; one sister, Margaret Graves, Harrisonville, MO; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
