William "Bill" Dale Wiskur passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, just days shy of his 70th birthday. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian, MO. Those who wish to send memorial contributions can send them to Crescent Hill Cemetery in Bill's name.
Born on August 28, 1955, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Dale and Nannie (Harrison) Wiskur, William, affectionately known as "Bill"; cultivated a life rich in love, laughter, and agriculture. Bill was a proud graduate of Archie High School, Class of 1973, and dedicated his life to farming on the family farm until his retirement. Bill married Pearl Banks on March 29, 1980, and to this union they had two wonderful children, Sarah and Wesley. After divorcing, he married Pamela Basnight, on January 6, 2005, who brought him additional joy and companionship until her passing in 2023.
Bill was a man of simple pleasures. He loved playing cards, dancing, and sharing stories with friends and family during his daily "route" of visits, which included checking in with his neighbors, as well. Family reunions were a highlight for him, where he loved to socialize and share memories through the years. Another highlight in his life was that he was proud to be called "Papa" by his grandchildren. He had a love for gardening and canning after his retirement and often could be found attending the local cattle auctions. He was never one to miss episodes on RFD TV, eagerly soaking in the tales of rural life.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Pamela Wiskur. He is survived by his children: Sarah (Greg James) Cook, Wesley (Michelle) Wiskur, Brad Basnight, and Jeremy Basnight; his former wife and close friend, Pearl Wiskur; his siblings: Raymond (Nardene) Wiskur, Donna (Gene) Peterson, Faye Wiskur and Russell Wiskur; his grandchildren: Keaton Cook, Waylon Wiskur, Weston Wiskur, Dorsey Basnight, Raigenn Basnight, and Ava Basnight, along with many nieces and nephews.
