William "Mack" Emanuel Roberts, 85, of Harrisonville, MO, died Sunday, August 2, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Harrisonville with visitation from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
Mack was born May 21, 1924 in Sedalia, MO the son of William A. and Hattie M. (Rennison) Roberts. On June 5, 1952 he was united in marriage to Louise Stewart in Miami, Oklahoma.
As a teenager Mack was a Civilian Conservation Corp. worker. He worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad in Kansas City as a switchman for 30 years.
Mack and his family lived in the Kansas City/Independence area for 34 years before retiring in 1987 and moving to Warsaw, MO where Mack spent most of his time fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Mack was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrisonville, MO.
Mack was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and eight sisters. He is survived by his wife, Louise of the home; three sons, Eddie M. Roberts of Midland, TX, Jeffrey Roberts and his wife, Rebecca of Carney, MO and Drew Roberts and his wife, Karen of Harrisonville, MO; two daughters, Kaylene Kemper and her husband, Kemp of Abilene, KS and Vickie Vaughn of Kansas City, MO; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
