William "Bill" Gene DePugh of Belton, age 83, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went to be with Jesus on October 9, 2010. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Harrisonville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the William G. DePugh Scholarship Fund or to Continua Hospice, both c/o First Baptist Church, Harrisonville, MO. Well done, good and faithful servant.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kathleen (Norris), who was the love of his life since 5th grade. Their union was blessed with three children, all surviving: Dennis DePugh (wife, Glenda) of St. Joseph, MO, Diane DePugh Noble (husband, David) of Harrisonville, MO and Dana DePugh Spurgeon (husband, Allen) of Wichita, KS. Surviving grandchildren are Denny DePugh and Kim DePugh Davis, Matt Noble and Jeff and Jori Noble, and Matthew Spurgeon.
Bill served in the Army from 1945-1947, lived and worked as a builder in Independence, MO until 1961. He and his family then moved to Norborne, MO and began his life of service to Christ in 1964. He pastored churches in Missouri and Iowa for 27 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Harrisonville where he served as Bible study teacher until the time of his passing.
