Obituary

William Joseph Dugger, 82, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at St. Luke's East. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 04, 2025, at Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian, MO.

William was born on March 30, 1943. He is the son of Coy Joy Dugger and Elsie Mayree (Hill) Dugger of Adrian, MO. To many, he went by the nickname of Bill (or Billy Joe) and had graduated from Adrian High School. Professionally, he was a skilled truck driver who also worked in road construction and was part of the crew that originally built the Bruce R. Watkins Bridge on 71 Hwy in Kansas City.

Bill was an Eagle Scout and remained involved in scouting through most of his life and was a leader of Troop 145 in Raytown, MO. He had a love for wildlife and the outdoors; if weather permitted, he was always outside working or enjoying nature whenever possible. An avid gardener and cook, he also would spend his time learning new recipes or watching agriculture and craftsmanship videos on YouTube. Bill was also a big fan of football and the Kansas City Chiefs - and enjoyed watching (nearly) all of their games with his son.

William is preceded in death by his father, Coy Joy Dugger, and his mother, Elsie Mayree Dugger. He is survived by his former wife, Connie Dugger; his son, Coy Rogel Dugger, of Overland Park, KS; and his sister, Joy Murphy, of DeKalb, TX.
