William Edward Dahn, 79, of Harrisonville, MO, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville with burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville with a Rosary service at 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church Parish Building fund.
William was born March 15, 1930 in Rome, New York, the son of Howard and Frances Bertha (Sasenbury) Dahn. He married Esther Smolenski on June 5, 1954 in Camden, New York. He received an associate's degree from Syracuse University in New York.
William was a Korean War Army Air Corp Veteran. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus of Harrisonville. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville and served as a Eucharistic minister. William had lived in Harrisonville for the past 38 years.
William was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Arlene Davis. He is survived by his wife, Esther, of the home; three sons, Peter Dahn and wife, Lynelle, David Dahn and Timothy Dahn and wife, Patti; two daughters, Mary Michele Hawkins and husband, Randy and Julie Drew and husband, Patrick; two brothers, Carlton Dahn and wife, Marjorie and Dennis Dahn and wife, Vicky; one sister Marilynn Denison; nine grandchildren, Tanya, Sidney and Samuel Drew, Emily and Andrew Hawkins, Kaytlyn, Madison, Jackson and Michael Dahn and two step-grandchildren, Randy Jr. and Michael Hawkins.
