William "Bill" Kenneth Corbin, 65, Adrian, MO, died Friday, November 17, 2006 at his home in Osceola, MO. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at the Atkinson Chapel, Adrian, MO, officiated by Pastor Vernon West, Creighton Baptist Church. Burial was in West Point Cemetery, Amsterdam, MO. Music by Larry Cantrell, soloist and Kathleen Stephens, organist. Casket bearers were Jerry Clark, Marvin Hocker, Charles Cleveland, Raymond Jackson, Rex Dillon, Dan Keating and Jim Reeves. Masonic services were held Monday, November 20 at the Atkinson Chapel, Adrian, MO, under the auspices of Crescent Hill Lodge #368. Contributions may be made to Ararat Shrine or to Children's Mercy Hospital.
Bill was born February 2, 1941 in Amsterdam, MO, the son of William Harold and Opal Christine (Browning) Corbin. He was raised in the Burdette Community by his grandparents. As a young man, Bill became a member of the Burdette Baptist Church. He was a 1958 graduate of Adrian High School and attended Longview Community College. He was also a member of Coldwater Lodge #485 in Drexel, MO for many years.
Bill was united in marriage to Georgia Groves on February 28, 1964. To this union six children were born, Paula, Danny, Jeff, Jon, James and Alicia. Bill worked as a diesel mechanic and was the previous owner of the Archie Implement Company. He also loved to farm. He enjoyed going to stay at their home that they had near El Dorado Springs where he was living at the time of his death. Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren. They had a special place in his heart.
Bill is survived by his wife, Georgia, of the home; six children, Danny Corbin and his wife, Terri, Amsterdam, MO, Jeff Corbin, Butler, MO, Jonathan Corbin, Montrose, MO, James Corbin, Adrian, MO, Paula O'Connor and her husband, Mike, Adrian, MO and Alicia Clayton and her husband, Cale, Belton, MO; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters, Pauline Gehrett, Lubbock, TX, Loretta Paris and her husband, Alvin, Lee's Summit, MO, Donna Sue White and her husband, Edward, Amoret, MO and Daniece Miller and her husband, Kevin, Amoret, MO; stepmother, Verna Corbin, Amoret, MO; several nieces and nephews, friends and associates too many to mention.
Bill was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
