William "Bill" Charles Thomas, 76, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.  Services to be held at a later date.

Bill was born July 9, 1944 in Kansas City, MO, a son of Powell Byron and Mary Elizabeth (Hogan) Thomas.  He had lived in Kansas City, MO before moving to Harrisonville in 1993.  He attended Southwest High School.  Bill was a U. S. Marine veteran.  He married Cheryl Holtzclaw on December 26, 1966 in Oklahoma.

Bill owned and managed Burt Olson's Patio Furniture Store in Kansas City and was a mechanical engineer at The Landing shopping center in Kansas City before retiring in 2017.  He was an avid sportsman and a member of Ducks Unlimited.  Bill was a member and past president of the Cass County Elks Lodge #2791, Harrisonville.

Bill is survived by his wife, Cheryl, of the home; two daughters, Christy Freeman and son-in-law, Loran  Freeman, and Angie Tucker and son-in-law, Eric Tucker, all of Lee's Summit, MO; one brother, John E. Thomas, Webb City, MO;  sisters,  Nancie Thomas, Kansas City, MO;  and Earlene Hansett of California;  sister-in-law, Denise Reed, Kansas City, MO; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
