Wanda Glyn Conrad, 86, of Peculiar, MO, died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Research Belton Hospital, Belton, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Peculiar, with burial in Wills Cemetery, Peculiar. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, January 12 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Peculiar.
Glyn was born January 12, 1922 to Charles and Elsie (Bailey) Hughes, near Warsaw, MO. She was united in marriage to Bruce S. Conrad on February 19, 1943 in Paola, KS.
Glyn was a long standing and active member of the First Baptist Church of Peculiar.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bruce; sisters, Vena Mae Hughes, Nita Faye Henry, Fidelia Helt; and brothers, Charles Eugene Hughes and Kenneth Edwin Hughes. She is survived by one sister, Jenny Floyd and husband, Jim, Blue Springs,MO; two sons, Edgar Houchen and wife, Gerry, Archie, MO and Bruce E. Conrad and wife, Margaret, Peculiar, MO; one daughter, Christina R. Stewart, Peculiar, MO; 6 grandchildren, Kristy Jones, Derek Conrad, Robin Bray, David Golden, Diane Alexander, and Dennis Golden; 5 great-grandchildren, Coday Lyon, Paige Bray, Bryson Bray, Zachary Lyon and Torrie Conrad.
