Virginia Jane Weber, 98, Archie, Missouri, died Monday, January 26, 2015 at Adrian Manor Nursing Home in Adrian, after an extensive illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Archie, Missouri with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery in Drexel, Missouri. Virginia was born July 16, 1916 on a rainy Sunday morning, the daughter of Larkin Money and Clara (Jones) Poindexter. She was born three miles east of Ballard, Missouri, on the Judge Ballard farm, down a catalpa tree-lined lane. Virginia was the youngest of four children. She attended Freeze Out Country School, east of Ballard, for three years. The family moved to Drexel, Missouri, where Virginia completed her elementary school at Maple Grove and then graduated from Drexel High School in 1934.

Lee Clingman Flanary married Virginia Poindexter on January 30, 1936. They started housekeeping in the Everett community. To this union two children were born, Mildred Lorene Flanary and Thurman Lee Flanary. Virginia and Lee moved to Adrian in 1963. She worked 15 years as a cook and lunch lady in the Adrian and Archie School Systems.

Lee died in February, 1965 and Virginia continued to live in Adrian, where she married Jesse Allison in 1971. After the death of Jesse, Virginia remained in Adrian until 1987, at which time she married Fred Weber, and they lived in Lynchburg, Missouri. After Fred's death, Virginia returned to Archie, where she lived at the Archie Senior Housing, until moving to Adrian Manor last year.

Virginia was a devoted Christian, attending the Assembly of God Church, and was an avid Bible scholar. She was a good cook, an expert gardener, and frugal preserver of fruits and vegetables. Virginia crocheted and quilted hundreds of lovely crafts. And when her eyesight began to fail in her later years, she did not complain; she just learned how to live with her limitations. She had a great memory and was often called on to provide family information that no one else could remember, like birthdays, names and kinships.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Arlie, Wilson and Jack Poindexter, three husbands, and one granddaughter, Linda Beyer and husband, Arthur. She is survived by her two children, Thurman Flanary and wife, Doretta of Archie, Missouri and Mildred Flanary of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Lisa Schaal and husband, Rodney of Powers Lake, Wisconsin, Mark Bobula and wife, Melissa of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Barbara Flanary Armstrong and husband, Christian of Lakeside, Arizona; six great-grandchildren, Lee Beyer and wife, Erin, Bryce Bobula, Trenton Bobula, Frankie Nicole Bobula, Holly Virginia Schaal, Nikolas Schaal; two step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
