Obituary

Virginia Earl Clum, 84, Shawnee, KS, formerly of Raytown, MO, died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at The Sweet Life at Rosehill in Shawnee. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO, with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, 5445 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, KS 66104.

Virginia was born August 21, 1926 in Cross Timbers, MO, the daughter of Leslie Earl and Lola M. (Crawford) Dickenson. She grew up in Harrisonville and was a 1944 graduate of Harrisonville High School. She graduated from Warrensburg Teacher's College in Warrensburg, MO.

Virginia married Ralph Harold Clum on June 30, 1945. They moved to Independence, MO in the early 1950's and in 1962, they moved to Raytown, MO. She lived there until moving to Shawnee, KS in 2006. Virginia taught school, Kindergarten through 8th grade, for a few years. She was a Methodist.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph on February 7, 1989, one brother, Warren Dickenson, one sister, Lucille Hanson, one daughter, Janice Marie Clum Miles and one grandchild, Kimberly Locke. She is survived by one son, Michael Clum and his wife, Karen, Shawnee, KS; one daughter, Brenda Kenniston and her husband, Ralph, Camdenton, MO; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
