Viola Ray Moon, 76, Lowry City, MO, formerly of Valparaiso, IN, died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Cox-South Medical Center in Springfield, MO. A memorial visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 5 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO.
Viola was born September 27, 1934 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Charles Ray and Bessie (Craft) Bracken. She had lived in Kansas City before moving to Indiana in 1961. She worked at Bethlehem Steel for 20 years before retiring in 1997. She was a member of the United Steel Workers Union. She moved to Lowry City, MO after retiring.
She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Moon, Lafayette, IN and Georgia Gayle McLaughlin, Oakland Park, FL; one brother, Burt Bracken, Cross Timbers, MO; 3 grandchildren, Nicole Rauh, Kaitlyn McLaughlin and Connor McLaughlin.
