Vincent Vernon Zumwalt, 85, Cleveland, MO died Sunday, December 17, 2017 at his home in Cleveland, MO. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO with burial in West Union Cemetery, Cleveland, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice.
Vincent was born May 6, 1932 in Barry, Platte County, MO, a son of Vincent O. and Grace A. (Harris) Zumwalt. Vincent grew up in the Platte County area and was a 1950 graduate of North Kansas City High School. He was U.S. Korean War Army Veteran and had lived in the Cleveland area since 1950. He was a farmer and stockman most of his life and had lived on the family farm since 1955.
Vincent was united in marriage to Mary Lucille Dawson, February 12, 1955 at the Methodist Church in Daugherty, MO. He served as a board member and president of the Public Water District #2 for 15 years.
Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters and a great-granddaughter, Mikayla Allen. He is survived by a son, Vince (Judy) Zumwalt, Cleveland, MO; a daughter, Phyllis (Gary) Mathews, Cleveland,MO; his twin sister, Vivian Irvin, Cleveland, MO; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
