Obituary

Vickie S. Quick, 63, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri, after a two-year battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Vickie was born August 30, 1951 in Cass County, Missouri, the daughter of Orville "Jack" and Thelma (Jones) Beckett. She spent most of her life in the Butler and Harrisonville areas. She worked in the cleaning industry most of her life and in most jobs she held, she always found a way to help or extend kindness to others. Vickie said her most important accomplishment was her family. She loved reading, watching TV, being outdoors and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a vibrant, happy person with a contagious laugh, who never met a stranger. She was a remarkable and giving person, a wonderful mother and an amazing "Meme".

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James Richard Carter and one son, Dennis Paul Linthicum, II. She is survived by her daughter, Paula Carpenter and husband, Nathan, of Harrisonville, Missouri; one son, G. R. Quick and wife, Amber, of Peculiar, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Kage Quick, Holden Carpenter, Autumn Quick, Kadin Quick, as well as many other family and friends.
