Verna Lenore Roberts, 86, Adrian, Missouri, died Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Lee's Summit Medical Center, Lee's Summit, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, Missouri with visitation from 1:00-2:00. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian.

Verna was born January 17, 1930 in Barada, Nebraska, the daughter of Jacob Franklin and Gladys Lenore (Goldman) Schuetz. She married Mervin Forrest Roberts on May 9, 1947 in Falls City, Nebraska.

Verna moved to the Lone Tree Community of Harrisonville in 1952 and to Adrian in 2014. She was a member of the Victory Assembly of God in Adrian. She was a homemaker.

Verna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mervin on December 28, 2010, and a daughter, Gladys Hocker on May 28, 2015. She is survived by one son, Jack Roberts, Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter, Mary Blackman (Robert), Pleasant Hill, Missouri; one brother, David Schuetz, Ruidosa, New Mexico; one sister, Carol Reynolds, Neosho, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
