Vera Schacher, 81, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025, at her son's home in Harrisonville. Graveside services were held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at  Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to Harrisonville Christian School - Kinder Castle.

Vera was born on December 14, 1943, in Rockville, MO, a daughter of John and Nina May (Nichols) Parks. She was a 1961 graduate of Appleton City, MO, High School, and was united in marriage to Richard Allen Schacher on May 5, 1967. She had lived in Lee's Summit, MO, before moving to Harrisonville in 1972. Vera was a dedicated Baptist, and became a member of the Harrisonville First Baptist Church after moving to Harrisonville. She was a homemaker, dedicated to raising her family. She later worked at the Archie School kitchen to spend time with her grandkids. She loved going to see the mountains in Colorado, watching the Chiefs, spending times with her dogs, fresh summer tomatoes, listening to Christmas music, and watching Hallmark movies. Vera's door was always open, welcoming everyone in with open arms. She never met a stranger. Above all, her greatest joy in life was attending all her grandchildren's celebrations and events.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard, on December 31, 1994; two brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her son, Timothy (Melonie) Schacher, Harrisonville, MO; two daughters: Sherry (Roy Knibb) Schacher, Harrisonville, MO; and Cindy (Leslie) Payne, Archie, MO; grandchildren: Jacob Schacher, Colter Schacher, Logan Payne, Caleb Schacher, Faith Payne, Katie Bilton, Elishia Payne, Trevor Carver, Maggie Schacher, Kendall Payne, Madison Schacher, and Max Bilton; and three great-grandchildren: Beth Schacher, Quill Schacher, and Uriah Bilton. She was anticipating the arrival of another great-grandson, Jonathan Carver.
