Vera Ruth Herring, 88, of Branson, MO departed this life September 3, 2022. Funeral services were held  Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. Burial in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO.

Ruth was born August 31, 1934 in Thayer, Missouri, a daughter of Amos and Leatha (Crews) Watson.  She was united in marriage to Lloyd George Herring in 1956.  They made their home in Freeman for many years.

Ruth worked for E.D.C. Company in Grandview, MO for over 40 years, making crystals to be used in the Patriot Missile Program for the military. After retirement, she moved to Branson to be near her daughter. Her biggest joys were spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd George in 1969; a granddaughter, Ashkea Lynne Wood; seven sisters: Marie Keitner, Alice Watson, Neoma Holman, Ella Crews, Leta Watson, Viola Ganley, and Lucille Brewer; four brothers: Ray Watson, Carl Watson, Wayne Watson, and Elvin Watson.  Ruth is survived by her daughter, Deborah Lynne Wood, Branson, MO; two brothers: Waymon (Ruth) Watson, Thayer, MO; and Gene (Marsha) Watson, Belton, MO; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
