Velda Rose Rahn, 86, Harrisonville, MO, died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Woodbine Nursing Home, Gladstone, MO. Funeral services 2:00 PM Saturday, August 25 at the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville, MO. Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Visitation 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday at the church.

Velda was born May 25, 1921 in Schell City, MO, the daughter of Harvey and Rose (Anderson) Prough. She married Thomas "Tommie" Martin Rahn on March 22, 1947 at the Kansas City Baptist Temple.

Velda was a graduate of Metz High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville and regularly attended Sunday school class. Velda was a member of the Foxcroft Golden Foxes where she attended Bible study and other activities.

Velda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tommie on September 1, 1990, one brother, Roy Prough and one infant sister, Doris Dean Prough. She is survived by two daughters, Judy Mazuch and her husband, Vincent, Harrisonville, MO and Linda Surls and her husband, Dwayne, Austin, TX; two brothers, Cecil Prough and his wife, Gerry and Everett Prough and his wife, Pat, all of Schell City, MO; three sisters, Roberta Kershner and Evelyn Prough, both of Adrian, MO and Dorothy Stice and her husband, Bob, Harrisonville, MO; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
