Twyla Darlene Oliphant, 69, Grandview, MO, died Monday, November 3, 2008 at her home. Funeral services 2:00 PM Friday, November 7 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. Visitation 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at the chapel. Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Darlene was born March 13, 1939 in Clinton, MO, the daughter of Ernest and Gladys (Anders) Frye. She had lived in Grandview, MO and Kansas City, MO most of her life. She was a Baptist. She worked as a cashier for a grocery store for 14 years before retiring in 2001.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, one son, Steven Oliphant, a grandson, Mike Jones and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by one son, Robert "Bob" Oliphant, Grandview, MO; four daughters, Kathy Kurtz, Vernal, Utah, Donna Jones, Grandview, MO, Paula Gerean, Raymore, MO and Kelly Oliphant, Grandview, MO; three brothers, Marshall Frye and Ronnie Frye, both of Kansas City, KS and Tommy Frye, Fair Play, MO; three sisters, Dixie Frye, Iris Barajas and Sue Frye, all of Kansas City, KS; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
