Tonya Dawn Hockett, 42, Amsterdam, MO, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at her home.  A Celebration of Life were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, MO.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Tonya Hockett Memorial Fund for the children.

Tonya was born on July 7, 1976 in Harrisonville, Missouri, the daughter of James (Jim) Arnold and Jeannie Arnold.  She was in the medical field for the past twenty years as a CNA, EMT, and CMT.  She dedicated her experience to Golden Years Nursing Facility in Harrisonville, MO for the past three years and was known for being such a loving and passionate employee.

Tonya resided in Amsterdam, MO for the past six months and in Adrian, MO before that.  She was raised in Adrian and graduated from the New Covenant Training Center in Garden City, MO in 1994.  She also graduated from Anthem College, in Kansas City, with her Surgical Medical Assistant Degree.  Tonya married William (Dean) Loper on April 25, 1997 at the Everett Church in Cass County.  After marriage, they brought their three daughters into the world.  On October 20, 2016, Tonya married Dustin Aaron Hockett in Branson, MO; then bringing to their home, their dog Tanker.

She was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Charles Politte and Jimmy Duncan, her grandfather, Harding Emerson Sayre, grandparents, Franks and Leta Arnold, and Haber and Hazel Villers, and her mother-in-law, Nina Mae Hockett.  Survivors include her husband, Dustin Hockett; beloved pet, Tanker; father, Jim (Dana) Arnold; mother, Jeannie Arnold; former husband, Bill Loper; children, Harley and Jessica Loper, and Haylea (Colton) Hardy; one grandchild, Nova Hardy; brothers, Ron (Susan) Arnold and Michael (Emily) Arnold; sisters, Terri Williams, Tracy Webber, Tisha Costigan, and Tammy Politte, along with all of their families, including all of Tonya's nieces and nephews.
