Timothy "Tim" Dale Payne, 68, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at his home in Harrisonville. A memorial visitation was held  on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.

Born on July 25, 1957, in Harrisonville, MO, Tim was a son of James Donald and Norma "Jean" (Claxton) Payne. He grew up in his hometown and graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1975. Tim went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Science from Central Missouri State University, laying the foundation for a successful career.

Tim was a talented Maintenance Engineer in the telecommunications industry, dedicating many years of service to Sprint before taking on the role of Facilities Asset Maintenance Manager for the City of Olathe, Kansas. His commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for serving his community as an active Democrat. A devoted father, brother, and grandfather, Tim leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Korrie Chaney. Tim is survived by his three daughters: Angi Payne of Harrisonville, MO; Jami Payne-Reed of Montana; and Misty Whetstine of Florida; his brother, David Payne, of Harrisonville, MO; his sister, Alma Chaney, of Kearney, MO; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; his niece, Kellie; and his nephew, Tate, all of whom brought him immense joy.
