Thomas Glenn Michael, 77, Harrisonville, MO, died Thursday, August 31, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 5 at the Atkinson Funeral Home.

Tom was born March 28, 1940 in Pittsburg, KS, the son of Daniel Glenn and Minnie Idell (Culbertson) Michael. He grew up in Kansas City, MO, and later lived in Raytown, MO, before moving to Harrisonville in 1980. He was U.S. Air Force veteran.

Tom married Mary Jane Shelton on August 22, 1964 at the Adrian Baptist Church in Adrian, MO. He worked for General Motors, Leeds Plant, for 25 years and was a member of UAW Local #31. After retiring from General Motors, Tom worked for The Family Center in Harrisonville for 26 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Archie, MO.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one great-grandchild. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane, of the home; two daughters, Lorrie Kolb and husband, Skip, and Susan Breit, all of Harrisonville, MO; a nephew, Stewart Middleton, Independence, MO; 8 grandchildren, Colby Jones and wife, Tationa, Skyler Kolb, Lacy Kolb, Kristin Michael, Ashley Vanderpool and husband, Johnny, Rylan Breit, Rylee Breit, and Radley Breit, and 5 great-grandchildren.
