Thomas Edward Jones, 62, Drexel, Missouri, died Monday, September 11, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri with visitation from 1:00-2:00.

Tom was born November 1, 1954 in Phenix City, Alabama, the son of Ralph and Helen (Cantrell) Jones. He married Stephanie Jo Hash on December 29, 1976 in Columbus, Georgia. He was a U. S. Navy veteran.

Tom worked as a meat cutter for several grocery stores and was a machine operator at Cookbook Publishers. Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Helen, father, Ralph, step-mother, Verna Jones, and his mother-in-law, Fern Ashby. He is survived by his beloved wife, Stephanie Jones, of the home; his father-in-law, James Ashby, Harrisonville, MO; one son, Aaron Jones, Drexel, MO; two daughters, Sabrina Irvin, Drexel, and Robyn Yount, Louisburg, Kansas; three brothers, Jackie Lafaselle, Jerry Lafaselle, and Ralph Jones, Phenix City, Alabama; three sisters, Janice Hill, Phenix City, Connie Tucker, and Vicki Ingles; 9 grandchildren, Layne Irvin, Cole Jones, Ethan Irvin, Wyatt Irvin, Lilly Yount, Audrey Yount, Paul Yount, Kylie Irvin, and Jase Irvin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
