Teresa "Teri" Faye Downey, 68, Peculiar, MO, died Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, MO. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO with burial in Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, MO.

Teri was born April 13, 1949 in Independence, MO, a daughter of Jack and Christine (Morris) Curtis. She grew up in Independence and was a 1967 graduate of Truman High School in Independence. She was united in marriage to Jerry Downey on July 24, 1982 in Belton, MO. Teri had worked for the U. S. Postal Service in the Kansas City, MO area and after moving to Peculiar in 1983, she worked at Plumb's Restaurant in Peculiar.

Teri was preceded in death by a son, Robert Hays, and her parents. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Downey, of the home; two sons, Bill Hays and Kevin Downey, both of Peculiar, and a daughter, Jere L. Lasswell, Peculiar; two brothers, Rev. Isreal Curtis, Montgomery, Texas, and Kelly Curtis, Peculiar; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
