Susan Lee Johnston, 84, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Meadow View Care Center in Harrisonville. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in the Quincy Cemetery in Corning, Iowa.

Susan was born January 11, 1930 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Leonard and Susan Lydia (Lauver) Brown. She was a bookkeeper and accountant for Husky Oil Company in Cody, Wyoming from 1964-1968. She moved to Harrisonville in 1988. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Harrisonville.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, her foster parents, Lloyd and Bonnie Fairmen, a son, Steve Johnston and a 2-year-old granddaughter, Nickie, a brother, Leonard Brown, and four sisters, Rose Brown (at age 2), Lois Flowers, Letha Pepper and Bernice Clark. She is survived by two brothers, Wilford Brown, Adrian, Missouri and Burton Brown, Eugene, Oregon, a stepbrother, Richard Fairmen, who was adopted by Lloyd and Bernice Fairmen in 1944; several other relatives, including a niece and caretaker, Debra Lee and her husband, Tom of Harrisonville, Missouri.
