Steven Leroy Straw, 63, Higbee, MO, formerly of Clinton, MO, died Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Englewood Cemetery in Clinton.

Steven was born April 24, 1955 in Clinton, MO, the son of Jack Leroy and Betty (Lewis) Straw. He was a 1973 graduate of Clinton High School and had attended one year at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. He started working for Peabody Coal Company in Clinton and later moved to Higbee, MO when the Clinton mine shut down. He then went to work for a coal mine in Macon, MO. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Union.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by one brother, Vernon Straw, Clinton, MO, other relatives and friends in both Clinton and Higbee.
