Steven Mark Prime, 62, Peculiar, MO, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at his home. Funeral services were Monday, June 11, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, MO. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Military honors were under the auspices of the Missouri National Guard Alpha Team.
Steve was born May 18, 1945 in Morrill, Nebraska, the son of Noah Norton and Ruby Laura (Fuller) Prime. He married Sherri Ann Shives on October 19, 1985. Steve grew up in Kansas City, MO and Grandview, MO and had lived in Gettysburg, South Dakota, Arizona and Guymon, Oklahoma before moving to Peculiar. He was the Chief of Police for 10 years in Gettysburg and was also a volunteer fireman. Steve was a truck driver in Guymon, OK. He was a Catholic. Steve enjoyed hunting and stock cars and was a racecar driver. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jewell Arthur. He is survived by his wife, Sherri, of the home; one son, Troy Prime, Guymon, OK; two daughters, Lacey A. Prime, Guymon, OK and Stephanie Prime, Peculiar, MO; one brother, Richard Prime, Rogers, Arkansas; one sister, Margey Moore and her husband, Joe, Peculiar, MO; one grandchild, Kristopher S. Prime, Phoenix, Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
