Steven Lee Allbaugh, 69, of Harrisonville, MO passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at St. Luke's East Hospital in Lee's Summit, MO. Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.  Interment  in Orient Cemetery,  Harrisonville. Steve was born August 26, 1953 in Clarinda, Iowa, a son of George Leroy and Violet Mae (Oziah) Allbaugh. He lived in Gravity and Bedford, Iowa before the family moved to Clarinda. Steven was a 1971 graduate of Clarinda High School, where he played football, basketball and baseball. He received an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Iowa Western Community College in Clarinda. He worked for Gibson's store for many years and was transferred several times and in several towns in Iowa before being transferred to Harrisonville, Missouri, in 1975 to manage the Gibson's Store located there. In March 1976, he met his future wife, Janet Lawson. They were married July 3, 1976 in Clarinda at the First Christian Church. They had one daughter, Megan Rachelle.

Steve and Janet lived in Harrisonville for about a year before the Gibson's store closed and was then transferred to a small store in Iowa, but decided it was time for a change. They moved to Clarinda and he worked for Weil's Clothing store as an assistant manager for several years, before returning to the Gibson's family, later called Pamida. While living in Clarinda, Steve was a volunteer on the Clarinda Fire Department, following in his father's footsteps, who had been a fire chief for many years. He was transferred to Plattsmouth, Nebraska, as manager and they lived there until moving back to Harrisonville in 1985. He worked for Amoco Oil in Kansas City, Missouri, as a store manager, for several years and was employed with the Cass County Democrat Missourian in the printing department. On June 5, 2001, Steve was hired at the new Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Harrisonville, where he worked for 20 years, most of that time as a Battery Room Technician, before retiring in 2021.

Steve was an active member and past president of the Harrisonville Optimist Club and served as other officers throughout the years. He was also an active member of the First Christian Church in Harrisonville and had served as Property Chair, a deacon, and an elder. He helped out at the Food Pantry when he could and traveled to New Orleans on a mission trip to help re-build after Hurricane Katrina. He enjoyed watching football, especially the Kansas City Chiefs, and basketball, and watching WWE professional wrestling, every Monday, Friday and any other night it was on!

Steve was preceded in death by his father, George Allbaugh; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George "G. T." and Nancy Lawson; brother-in-law, Glenn E. Metheny; and his grandparents, L. E. "Bob" and Nancy Lee Oziah. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janet Allbaugh, of the home; one daughter, Megan Davidson and her husband, Ryan, Belton, Missouri; his dog, Blitzen; his mother, Violet Allbaugh, Clarinda, Iowa; one sister, Sandra Williams and her husband, Ivan, Clarinda; two brothers: Bob Allbaugh and his wife, Cathy, Bettendorf, Iowa; and Mike Allbaugh and his wife, Annie, Clarinda; one sister-in-law, Georgann Metheny, Raymore, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Richard Lawson, Harrisonville; aunts, uncle, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
