Stephen D. Lyon, 60, Eagle Rock, Missouri, formerly of Cleveland, Missouri, died Sunday, December 27, 2015, at The Rehabilitation Center of Raymore in Raymore, Missouri. Services were held December 31, 2015, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Eagle Rock Volunteer Fire Department or Cass Midway Booster Club.

Steve was born February 8, 1955, in Cleveland, Missouri, the son of Richard and Helen (Robinson) Lyon. He was a 1973 graduate of Cass Midway Schools. Steve married Cheryl Lynn Banks on June 22, 1974, in Freeman, Missouri. He worked for APAC-Wilkerson-Maxwell Construction Company and was a member of the Teamsters. He retired and moved to Eagle Rock in 2011, where he was a proud volunteer for the Eagle Rock Fire Department.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl, on November 21, 2003, his parents, and two sisters, Pat Ayres and Carol Keeler. He is survived by two sons, Jason "Jake" Lyon (Jennifer) of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Jeff Lyon (Kelly) of Raymore, Missouri; two brothers, John Lyon (Phyllis) of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Mike Lyon (Shauna) of Cleveland, Missouri; three sisters, MaryAnn Pryor of Butler, Missouri, Linda Lyon of Hightstown, New Jersey, and Kathy Orf (Bob) of St. Joseph, Missouri; and four grandchildren, Claire and Colston Lyon, and Drew and Cash Lyon.
