Spencer James "Dewey" Ferguson, loving son, grandson and friend, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022. He is survived by his mother and her partner, Sara Ferguson and Mark Montford; his father and his partner, Dan Ferguson and Celia Llopis-Jepsen; maternal grandparents, Joe and Pam Williams; paternal grandparents, Jim and Diane Ferguson; uncles: Mike Ferguson and Angie, Lucas Williams; aunt, Jenny Rodgers and Scott; and cousins: Elllie and Grace Ferguson and Calvin Rodgers.

Spencer was born on January 3, 2002. He graduated from Ray-Pec High School in 2020. During high school, he was a patient and accomplished tutor. After high school, he worked in the restaurant industry.

According to many, Spencer was "the kindest person I have ever met." Spencer loved animals of all kinds, and they all loved him as well. He was always patient and kind with his cousins and was loved dearly by them. He enjoyed listening to and playing music, making artwork including collages and clay figurines, and collecting all manner of knick-knacks and Beanie Babies. He loved his thrift store clothes, quirky t-shirts and wild socks.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, August 31 from 6-8 pm at the Beck Event Center in Harrisonville, Missouri. In lieu of gifts, donations in Spencer's name may be made to Wayside Waifs, the Trevor Project or the Kansas City Anti-Violence Project - Passages Group.
