Siroos "Sy" Noorbakhsh,69, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at his home in Kansas City, surrounded by his family. A Celebration Of Life visitation will be held from 11:00AM-12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO, followed by a 12:30 PM graveside service at Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, MO. Sy was born on September 29, 1956, in Abadan, Iran, a son of Ata and Khadijeh (Jananvandi) Noorbakhsh. The family moved to the United States in 1975. Sy earned his Civil Engineering Degree from UMKC and had worked for The City of Kansas City Codes Department for 40 years before retiring in January 2021. He was united in marriage to Brenda Hampton on July 12, 1986, in Harrisonville, MO. Sy was a music fan and the Rolling Stones was by far his favorite band.

Sy was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ciamak; and a sister-in-law, Nancy. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Noorbakhsh, of the home; a son, Logan Noorbakhsh, Kansas City, MO; two sisters: Akram Noorbakhsh, Vancouver, British Columbia; and Afsar Noorbakhsh, Iran; and many nieces and nephews.
