Shirley Ann Whittler, 63, Kansas City, MO, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 at the Grace Assembly of God in Kansas City. Visitation will be from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, MO.

Shirley was born October 30, 1947 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Alvard and LaVerne (Greene) Allen, Jr. She married Auther Whittler on June 3, 1973 in Jefferson City, MO. Shirley was a 1965 graduate of Harrisonville High School. She then graduated from Lincoln University in Jefferson City. She had lived in Kansas City since 1978.

Shirley had worked for Hallmark in Kansas City, MO for 31 years before retiring on November 3, 2010. She was a member of Grace Assembly of God where she was on the Board of Trustees and an usher.

She is survived by her husband, Auther, of the home; two sons, Vernon Greene, Kansas City, MO and Aaron Whittler, Sr., Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Lisa Jones and husband, Larry, Raytown, MO; three brothers, Lawrence Allen and his wife, Sharon, CA, Gerald Allen and his wife, Alexus, IL and Charles Allen, Harrisonville, MO; three sisters, Nira Cox and her husband, Theodore, Kansas City, MO, Thressa Allen, Kansas City, MO and Judy Rogers and her husband, Tim, Grandview, MO; 5 grandchildren, Patrick Greene, Priscilla Jones, Aaron Whittler, Jr., Janie Larissa Jones, LeAsia Reed, Tywonn Greene, Jayden Crockett, Cameron Cushon-Greene and Teyon Greene and four great-grandchildren.
