Shirley Jane Laiben, 74, Harrisonville, MO, died Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Meadow View of Harrisonville. Private family memorial services will be held Friday, November 4, 2016.
Shirley was born November 5, 1941 in Aurora, MO to Jesse Woodrow and Iniseta (Wise) Benton. She graduated from Aurora High School in 1959 then attended Nursing School. Shirley worked as a nurse for over 40 years. She worked at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, MO and in 1979 she moved to Kansas City, MO and worked at Research Hospital. She loved helping the elderly and animals.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by four children, Jon Laiben and his wife, Veronika "Ronnie" Dawson-Laiben, of Kansas City, MO, Patricia Snider of Aurora, MO, Kelly Miller of Aurora, MO, and Chris Matthews of Aurora, MO; one sister, Luella Maples of Marionville, MO; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
