Shirley Jean Edwards, 73, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services were held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.  Interment  at Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, MO.

Shirley was born on March 9, 1953, to Russell and Luella Bates in Kansas City, Kansas. She attended Washington High School, graduating with the Class of 1971. She went on to attend college and received a degree in Accounting. Later, she started working for General Motors on the assembly line in 1976 and retired in 2006 from the Fairfax assembly plant in Kansas City, KS.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Luella Bates; an older brother, Dean Bates; and her first husband, David Bozarth. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Harry "Rich" Edwards, II, of the home; her two children, Camille Bozarth (Kyle Long) and Thomas Bozarth (Brandy Cabana); step-son, Harry "Rick" Edwards III (Cassandra); her four grandchildren: Kayln Warren (Brock Schwarz), Mariah Warren (Ethan Bell), Trenton Warren (Laila Mangum), and Austin Edwards; her great-grandson, Liam Bell; her three brothers: Donald Bates, Robert Bates, and Dale (Karen) Bates; along with many loved cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Shirley was loved by all who knew her with her on point humor, inviting smile, and contagious laughter. She will be forever loved and missed.
