March 31, 1936 – February 7, 2025
Shirley Ingram Dunkin, 88, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Villages of Jackson Creek in Independence, MO. She was born March 31, 1936 in Independence, MO, a daughter of Richard and Alice (Adolfae) James.
Shirley lived most of her life in Independence, except for a few years when she lived in Versailles, MO. She was a dedicated Baptist, and always belonged to a church, no matter where she lived.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. Ingram; her second husband, Don Dunkin; a son, Michael G. Ingram; a grandson, Christopher; three sisters; and a brother. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Vickie Ingram, Kansas City, MO; a son, James R. Ingram, and wife, Karen, Blue Springs, MO; and a grandson, Joshua.
Shirley and Donald, having both lost their lifetime spouses, met at church. As they required more care, they moved to Grain Valley to be closer to Angie (Donald's granddaughter) and Vickie (Shirley's daughter). They later resided together at John Knox and Jackson Creek.
A memorial graveside service will be held at Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO, at a later date.
