Shirley Mae Crawford, 94, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Lee's Summit Place in Lee's Summit. Shirley was born on November 2, 1930 in Pontiac, Michigan, a daughter of Homer and Selma (Rasmussen) Smith.

Shirley graduated from Michigan State Normal College (now Eastern Michigan University) in Ann Arbor with a degree in Education. She was united in marriage to Richard G. Crawford on December 19, 1953 in Michigan. After Richard retired from the Air Force, they moved to Grandview, MO, and later to Harrisonville, MO. Shirley spent the last eight years in Lee's Summit.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters: Patricia Crawford and Tamara Wendel; a grandson, Gordon Larrabee; and three sisters. She is survived by two sons: Nels Crawford (Donna), of Drexel, MO; and Eric Crawford (Karen), of Harrisonville, MO; three daughters: Susan Larrabee (Jim), of Lee's Summit, MO; Sister Kristin Crawford, of New Berlin, IL; and Mary Willett (Myles) of Venice, FL; and grandchildren: Alan Larrabee (Jennifer) and Nathalie Smith (Tim). In addition, Shirley had seven great grandchildren.

Shirley loved many things: gardening, pets, sports, and reading (to name a few). Most of all she loved her family and friends. Her kindness and acceptance will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
