Shirley Ann Butler, 81, Harrisonville, MO, died Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Saint Luke's East Hospital in Lee's Summit, MO. A memorial visitation was held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.
Shirley was born October 13, 1935 in Butler, MO, the daughter of Doley and Bessie (Polson) Alkire. Shirley married William Clarence "W. C." Butler on March 5, 1955 in Butler. She was a lifelong area resident and moved to Harrisonville in 1963. Shirley worked as a cook at various restaurants, including Hollywood Cross and the Dinner Bell in Harrisonville.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Bill, of the home; three sons, William Brent Butler, Peculiar, MO, Reed Butler, Paola, KS, and Chris Butler, Raymore, MO; three sisters, Wilma Dodds, Passaic, MO, Patsy Quick, Butler, MO, and Betty Black, Hermitage, MO; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
