Shirley Jean Blocker Sorensen, 69, Archie, Missouri, died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. Inurnment will be in Cool Springs Cemetery in Faceville, Georgia at a later date.
Shirley was born April 5, 1946 in Quincy, Florida, the daughter of Edward Lynville and Bessie (Lane) Blocker. She worked for public schools as a teacher's aide in special education.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James Everett Blocker, and one sister, Elizabeth Anne Poppell. She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Kee (Rodney), Wichita Falls, Texas and Shannon Hayden (James), Collinsville, Oklahoma; two brothers, Eddie L. Blocker, Charlotte, North Carolina and William H. Blocker, Quincy, Florida; one sister, Ramona Hall, Fayetteville, North Carolina; a niece, Cindy Ingram, Thomasville, Georgia, and five grandchildren, Allen Curts (Kelsey), Amanda Hayden (Keith), Haleigh Curts, Jordan Beeks, Jarrett Hayden and many nieces and nephews.
