Obituary

Sharon Ruth Hauser, 60, Archie, MO, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at her home in Archie.
Services 10:00 AM Monday, December 3 at the Archie United Methodist Church, Archie, MO. Visitation 3:00-5:00 PM Sunday, December 2 at the Atkinson Funeral Home, 104 W. Walnut, Archie, MO. Burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, MO. A fund has been set up in her name by her friends and colleagues at the Archie School District. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Sharon Hauser Memorial Fund at the school or the Archie United Methodist Church.


Sharon Ruth Hauser was born March 17, 1947 and raised in Kansas City, MO. Sharon was the oldest daughter of Gerhard and Mary Ola (Watt) Hauser who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Hauser.

Sharon received her undergraduate and Master's degrees in education from Central Missouri State University at Warrensburg. She was an elementary teacher at the Archie School District for 35 years. After retiring 3 years ago, she continued as a substitute teacher, tutor and active sports booster at the school. She was a foster parent for many years. Sharon's life was dedicated to the welfare and education of children. She held the belief that "a house is colorless without children." Her house was full of children.

Sharon is survived by her sister, Paula Hauser Leffel and husband Russell C. Leffel of Kansas City; her cousin, Martha Turnage and husband Bill Turnage of Gladstone, MO; devoted nieces and nephews Jordan H. Hand, Brooklyn, NY, Zachary Hauser, Eureka, CA, Gunnar H. Hand, Los Angeles, CA, Caitlin H. Boney, Eureka, CA, and her much loved great niece Rowan.

Sharon cultivated a large and loving family of friends in Archie and will be dearly missed. She was a member of the Archie United Methodist Church.
