Sharon A. Barnard, 71, of Lane, KS (formerly of Peculiar, MO) died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at her home. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, MO with Rosary at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, MO. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville, MO.

Sharon was born June 10, 1943 in Brookfield, MO, the daughter of George and Emma Evalyn (Halley) Passig. She was a 1961 graduate of Marceline High School, Marceline, Missouri. She had four children with her former husband, Charles "Bub" Barnard. She worked for over 30 years and retired from Torotel in 2005 and was a member of St. Philip Neri parish in Osawatomie, Kansas. Sharon adored her grandchildren and being a grandma and "nana". She was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading and working on all types of puzzles.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, George Passig and Harold Passig. She is survived by two sons, Matt Barnard and his wife, Kelly, of Buffalo, MO and Joe Barnard of Lee's Summit, MO; two daughters, Wendy Richardson and her husband, Chris, of Lane, KS and Tina Kucera of Nixa, MO; two brothers, Robert Passig of Clifton Hill, MO and Glenn Passig and his wife, Angie, of Lanes Prairie, MO; one sister, Marilyn Wienhaus and her husband, Al, of Clifton Hill, MO; and 11 grandchildren, C.J. Richardson, Kyle Richardson, Jordan Kucera, Bryan Richardson, Kaitlin Richardson, Bobby Richardson, Wade Barnard, Dakota Barnard, Chariss Barnard, Jacob Barnard and Parker Barnard.
