Scharlie Anne Cantrell, 29, Freeman, Missouri, died Friday, September 25, 2015 at her home. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation from 1:00-2:00. Memorial contributions may be made to Healing Grace Counseling Center, a place where Scharlie attended, a place where everyone can feel peace and is drawn in more fully to the One who brings wholeness to their lives.
Scharlie was born September 30, 1985 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Robert and Kathryn (Coleman) Cantrell. She was a lifelong resident of Freeman, Missouri. She attended the Independence School of Cosmetology and worked as a cosmetologist. Scharlie was always mommy and daddy's sweet baby girl. As a family, they shared many happy memories together. Scharlie was an equestrian and rode American Saddle bred horses from the time she was five years old. She completed many competitions and won many ribbons.
Scharlie was also an avid animal rights and mental illness advocate. She was on her computer every day, signing petitions to make a better world for the comfort and care of every animal and every mentally ill person. Scharlie loved the outdoors, night fishing with her friends, hunting deer and turkey. She was a country girl at heart but she loved her makeup. She was a true artist at making herself and others beautiful. She had so many wonderful friends and had many memories that were special. She loved to take pictures and would spend hours looking at and enjoying her photos.
Scharlie is survived by her parents, Robert and Kathryn Cantrell, Freeman, Missouri; grandfather, Charles Coleman, Freeman, Missouri; extended family, Kevin and Ronda Miller, Harrisonville, Missouri; Terran Miller, Harrisonville, Missouri; Dustin Miller and family, Kansas City, Missouri; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Scharlie loved and was loved by so many people.
