Sarah Rose Spitler, 78, Pleasant Hill, MO, died Thursday, October 18, 2018 at John Knox Care Center Hospice House in Lee's Summit, MO.  A graveside inurnment was held Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, MO.

Sarah was born November 7, 1939 in Little Blue, MO, the daughter of Samuel C. W. and Wada (Graves) Cornelius.  She was a lifelong area resident.  Sarah married Daniel Ray Spitler on August 31, 1955 in Harrisonville, MO.  They were married for 30 years before Daniel's death in 1986.

In 1960, Daniel and Sarah purchased a 90-acre farm outside of East Lynne, MO and in 1978 they purchased another 120 acres outside of Strasburg.  They set up residence in at the farm in Strasburg in 1972.  Sarah worked on the farms and raised their three sons, Robert, Donald and Kenneth.  She was a Methodist.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Daniel on March 24, 1986.  She is survived by three sons, Robert Spitler, Donald Spitler, and Kenneth Spitler, all of Pleasant Hill, MO; one sister, Helen Gilmore, Harrisonville, MO; 3 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
