Ruth Ann Barnard, 70, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at her home in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Ruth Ann was born July 16, 1938 in Disney, Oklahoma, the daughter of George Albert and Gladys Marie (David) Ousterhout. She married Robert Lee Barnard on November 1, 1953.

Ruth Ann had lived in Harrisonville since the early 1950's. She had worked for Grace Company in Belton for 18 years. She had also worked for Foxwood Springs in Raymore, MO for about seven years. She was most recently a greeter at Wal-Mart before retiring in 2008.

Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents, two half-brothers, Wilford Riddle and Danny Ousterhout and two half-sisters, Arlene Burnett and Maxine Remington. She is survived by her husband, Robert, of the home; one son, Bobby Barnard, Harrisonville, MO; one daughter, Debbie Schipper, Harrisonville, MO; one sister, Linda Bennett, Miami, OK; seven half-brothers, Roy Ousterhout, Butler, MO, Raymond Ousterhout, Topeka, KS, Bill Riddle, Junction City, KS, Rodney Riddle, Baxter Springs, KS, Roger Riddle, Chetopa, KS, Glen Riddle, California and Arthur Riddle, Chetopa, KS; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
