Russell Leroy Hannah, 79, of Harrisonville, MO died Monday, November 27, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 2 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, officiated by Pastor Darren Widner, Crossroads Assembly, Harrisonville. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Honorary casket bearers are Daymond Moles and Jim Proctor. Casket bearers are Rickey Green, David Green, Delbert Hannah, Jr., Leroy J. Hannah, Travis Arnold and Ryan Johansen. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Assembly Building Fund.
Russell was born August 15, 1927 in Ballard, MO, the son of Claude Lester and Anna Mae (Moles) Hannah. Russell grew up in the Ballard MO area and was a life long area resident. Russell was an Army Air Corp. Veteran of WW II and a member of the Assembly Of God Church. He was united in marriage to Frances Irene Anderson on September 29, 1950 at Frances's family home in Freeman, MO. Russell started R.L. Hannah & Sons Trucking in 1963 and stayed very active in the business until his death.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, David Wayne Hannah and a daughter, Carolyn Sue Morgan. He is survived by his wife, Frances Hannah, of the home; two sons, Russell Leroy Hannah, Garden City, MO and Delbert Lee Hannah, Harrisonville; two daughters, Linda Diane Hessefort, Harrisonville and Sharon Kay Green, Harrisonville; a brother, Donald Hannah, Clinton, MO; four sisters, Shirley James, Clinton, MO, Mary Livingston, Clinton, MO, Betty Gillis, Amsterdam, MO and Helen Earl, Clinton, MO; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
