Ruby Anna Stacy, 74, of Peculiar, MO died Sunday, August 1, 2010 at her home after a graceful battle with cancer. Funeral services 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. Burial in Peculiar Cemetery, Peculiar, MO. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 3 at the chapel.

Ruby was born December 20, 1935, in Marceline, MO, the daughter of Alfred and Anna (Blew) Grable. Ruby was a loving sister to 16 siblings and was a 1953 Keytesville High School graduate.


On May 1, 1954, Ruby married John L. Stacy. They were married for 53 years and had two sons, John D. Stacy and Charles A. Stacy. John and Ruby moved to Peculiar in 1955. Ruby worked at Torotel as a production manager for 35 years. Ruby was a member of the First Baptist Church of Peculiar and was baptized on September 3, 2006 in Long Branch Lake, Macon, MO.


Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She will be remembered most for her caring nature and constant warm embrace. Ruby was a matriarch, cook, gardener, avid slot machine winner and master fisherman. She opened her home and her heart to anyone who walked through her door. She always greeted them with a warm hug and a plate full of home-cooked food. Ruby spoke her mind, followed her heart and loved her family unconditionally.


Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, 12 brothers and sisters and many loving pets. She is survived by two sons, John Stacy and his wife, Catherine and Charles Stacy and his wife, Loretta; two brothers, John Grable and Buck Grable; two sisters, Ruth Stalte and Dena Ervie; four grandchildren, Melissa Treolo, Brian Stacy, Justin Stacy and his wife, Azlynn, Michelle Johnson and her husband, Brant; six great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Treolo, Jocelyn Treolo, Nathaniel Ashley, Caden Stacy, Nolan Ashley and Makenzie Stacy.
