Ruby (precious gem) Cordialla (Indian princess) Sides Lethcho Hedges, 88, formerly of Archie, MO departed this life on Friday, July 9, 2010 at Adrian Manor in Adrian, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Archie, MO. The family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 am Saturday at the chapel. Burial in the Austin Cemetery, Archie, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Austin Cemetery Association or Gideons International.

Ruby was born the oldest of 8 children to Leonard and Nellie (Williams) Sides on November 22, 1921 near Dayton, MO.

Ruby was saved and baptized in Big Creek on June 30, 1938. She was a farm girl her whole life.

Ruby married Alva Lee Lethcho on May 20, 1942. Two boys were born, Michael Lee, who only lived 3 days, and David J. They made their home in Archie, MO.

After Alva died in 1956 she married Don W. Hedges on January 12, 1957. They made their home near Austin, MO until their retirement in 1999 when they moved to Passaic, MO until Don's death on December 15, 2006. She then moved to Fontana, KS and lived there until her stroke on March 22, 2010, when she moved to the Adrian Manor in Adrian, MO.

Ruby was active in her local church. She taught Sunday school and vacation bible school for over 60 years. She was the President of the Austin Bean Eating for over 20 years. Ruby grew up in a humble home as she shared many good times and fond memories.

Besides her parents and husbands, Ruby was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 1 brother. She is survived by one son, David J. Lethcho and his wife, Betty, of Fontana, KS; one brother, Earnie Sides and his wife, Elizabeth; three sisters, Norvia Pedrone, Gwyn Gray and Joann Rott; 4 grandsons; 4 granddaughters; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
