Obituary

Roy L. Reddell, 71, Adrian, Missouri died Friday, April 27, 2012 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, Missouri. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, April 30 at the Atkinson Chapel in Adrian. Burial will be in Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian. The family suggests contributions to the Church Of Christ in Butler, Missouri.

Roy was the youngest of six boys born to Cecil Ervin and Flara Leona (McCutcheon) Reddell in Cave Creek, Arkansas. Roy moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1959 where he met and married the love of his life, Mary Lou Azamber in 1961. Two children were born to this union, Kelli Renee and Johnnie Howard.

The family moved to Adrian in 1976. Roy retired from GM Leeds Plant where he was known to most as "Too Tall". During retirement Roy and Mary Lou enjoyed running trot lines for the "big" catfish at Truman Lake and traveling the country in their RV. Much to everyone's surprise, in his later years Roy enjoyed driving a school bus for Adrian School, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charlie Howard, Cecil Irvin Jr. and George William. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years Mary Lou; daughter, Kelli of Adrian; son, Johnnie and wife, Jonna of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; brothers, James Verl and wife, Faye of Harrison, Arkansas and Campbell Euell and wife, Mary of Blue Springs, Missouri; grandchildren, Sheldon Jr., Tyler, and Travis Proell of Adrian and Elaine and Scotty Reddell of Pauls Valley, OK; and numerous other family members and friends.
