Rose Caroline Williams, 68, Peculiar, Misouri, died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri, with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the East Liberty Cemetery in Stotesbury, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities or Relief Fund.
Rose was born October 23, 1944 in Clinton, Missouri, the daughter of James T. and Caroline C. (Wankum) Johnson. She lived in Windsor, Missouri from 1948-1962 before moving to Kansas City, Missouri. She married Emery Maynard Williams on July 25, 1964 at St. Bartholomew's in Windsor. They moved to Peculiar in 1978.
Rose worked for St. Joseph Hospital and Menorah Hospital as a Medical Records Clerk and Tumor Registrar before retiring in 1995. She was a member of the NTRA and KCATRA, (National Tumor Registrar Association) and was a member of St. Sabina Catholic Church in Belton, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles E. Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Maynard Williams, of the home; one son, Tom Williams, St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Carol Strickler and her husband, Larry, Cleveland, Missouri; one sister, Catherine Marie Tipton, Clinton, Missouri; 3 grandchildren, Ali, Austin and Adam and a niece, Donna Randall, Sedalia, Missouri.
