Rose Houghton, 70, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Visitation was held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.

Rose was born February 28, 1955 in Omaha, Nebraska, a daughter of Richard and Donna (Coleman) Pecha. She spent her early years in Omaha before living in New Mexico, Kansas City, and Texas. She was united in marriage to Daniel Houghton on April 22, 1995, and they lived in Overland Park, KS, before moving to Anahuac, Texas in 2007. Rose worked as a clerk for the Chambers County, Texas, Sheriff's Office for 14 years, retiring in 2021. After retirement, she and Dan moved to Harrisonville to be near family.

Rose is survived by her husband, Daniel Houghton, Harrisonville, MO; a son, Mike Glyn, Overland Park, KS; two daughters: Judi Wood, Kingsville, MO; and Christina (Jimmy) Gulotta, Pleasanton, KS; two stepsons: Daniel Houghton, Beaumont, Texas; and Chris Houghton, Woodville, TX; a brother, Dean Pecha, Omaha, Nebraska; a sister, Yvonne Evans, Omaha, NE; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Rose never met a person she couldn't be friends with. This world lost an angel, but Heaven is surely enriched with her presence. She will be greatly missed.
